MP’s call for calm amid reported rise in antisemitism

Local MP Andrew Jones has called for ‘calm, tolerance and respect’ across our community following reports in the capital of a rise in antisemitic activities. Jewish groups and the police have reported a significant rise in incidents since the terrorist attacks in Israel and the ongoing response from the Israeli Government. Mr Jones commented: I must start by being unequivocal in my condemnation of the barbaric attacks by Hamas. Andrew Gray is standing to be the next Member of Parliament for the Selby and Ainsty District. A by-election was forced when Nigel Adams (Conservative) stood down. Candlelit Christmas Remembrance at Stonefall Cemetery

Sunday 18th December, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) was pleased to host a Candlelit Christmas Remembrance at Stonefall Cemetery in Harrogate. The now-annual event was the inspiration of local mum Benji Walker who had seen images of CWGC cemeteries in Europe lit by candlelight. She said: The Candlelit Christmas Remembrance is a chance for the local community to gather to remember the sacrifice of the hundreds of CWGC casualties buried at Stonefall, many of them thousands of miles from home. Daniel Roy Connelly has been announced as the True & Fair Party Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) for York Outer, being 1 of 9 candidates announced to campaign to be an MP.
