Attempted murder – Scarborough man sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment

Victim received emergency treatment from police officers who rushed her to hospital following the “extremely brutal and frightening attack” A Scarborough man has been jailed for 16 years and given an extended licence of four years, for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend. 63rd + 1st opened in November 2021 on Albert Street in Harrogate. The area is a hub for many restaurants, including Yo! Sushi, Cote, Portofino, Pizza Express and Zizzi. Sheep worrying incident near near Beaver Dyke Reservoirs

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about an incident of livestock worrying which took place near Harrogate on Thursday 24 March 2022. At around 2.50pm witnesses reported seeing a dalmatian dog, believed to be called Mabel, chase after three ewes on land adjacent to a public footpath below the ruins of John of Gaunt’s castle near Beaver Dyke Reservoirs, in an area known as Haverah Park about 7km west of Harrogate. Suspected stolen car recovered and two teenagers arrested

A suspected stolen car was pursued by police and recovered less than two hours after it was reported by the owner. Police received the call at 6.45am yesterday (Sunday 6 March 2022) after the Peugeot 208 was taken from outside the address on Cochrane Street in Selby. The  Force Control Room staff immediately started carrying out work with our automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system. The team managed to track the movements of the stolen vehicle and alerted officers on the ground. North Yorkshire Police has published its strategy to tackle the issue of violence against women and girls. The document is entitled: “Helping women and girls to feel safe and be safe”.
