Ripon Farm Services open new Malton Depot

Ripon Farm Services (RFS), one of the leading agricultural machinery suppliers in the UK, has moved into a new depot at the 30-acre Eden Business Park near Malton. RFS has taken possession of a high-quality 22,000 sq ft building at the multi-million pound business park, which is located immediately off the A64 by the Pickering Road (A169) junction by Eden Camp. Additional funding for North Yorkshire bus services

The Department for Transport has announced that bus operators across England will benefit from up to £130 million of further support. Grant funding for commercial routes struggling to recover after the Government-imposed lockdowns had been expected to end in October. But last week the government announced further funding to cover six months from October this year to March 2023, which will be provided directly to bus operators rather than councils. Missing 85-year-old Ripon man

Police in Ripon are currently searching for missing 85-year-old Gino Francioli. Gino was last seen on Bridge View Road earlier this afternoon (Sunday 7 August) and officers are becoming very concerned for his safety. He is described as tall with white hair and was wearing a black coat and possibly carrying a blue rucksack. Temporary gym for Ripon this autumn

Harrogate Borough Council has submitted a planning application to install a temporary gym at the Jack Laugher Leisure and Wellness Centre in Ripon It is a temporary measure while ground stabilisation work is undertaken, and the existing gym is temporarily closed. The new gym will include the high-quality, state-of-the-art Technogym equipment currently available in the existing leisure and wellness centre. Ripon pursuit

A man has been arrested after a vehicle failed to stop in Ripon. Officers pursued the vehicle, a black 4 x 4 KIA, after it failed to stop on Marshall Way shortly before 11.30pm on Thursday 28 July 2022. After a short pursuit, the vehicle stopped, and several occupants ran from the vehicle. Going underground: Royal Engineers advance through the Yorkshire dark

Below the Leeds side streets, personnel from 21 Engineer Regiment slipped down into an array of tunnels to practice subterranean warfare on Exercise Hypogeal Bear this week. In sweltering weather and low-light conditions, around 20 soldiers from the Ripon-based unit made their way through 2km of knee-high water for what is seen as one of the Army’s most innovative exercises of the training year. Families enjoyed May Day at Ripon Cathedral Beer Festival

Ripon Cathedral Beer Festival was a huge hit after three-year COVID break – kindly sponsored by Wolseley. The Ripon Cathedral Beer festival was the place to be in Ripon this bank holiday Monday with 1,250 adults coming to enjoy a few beers to support the cathedral. Overcast skies failed to deter visitors and £18,000 was raised; this will help fund the music, heritage conservation and the education programme at Ripon Cathedral. Highway improvement work to start in Ripon – avoid Melmerby Green Lane

A section of road in Ripon will be closed for two days to allow highways engineers to carry out carriageway repairs. Drivers will be able to follow a diversion route to avoid while the work is in progress and there will also be advance notifications on the A1. The planned work is a patching programme and will answer concerns about the condition of the road surface. Melmerby Green Lane provides access to Barker Business Park and the section of road closed will be from there to the junction with the A61.
