Students, staff and parents, from the award-winning North Yorkshire independent schools which make up Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate, are celebrating today, following exceptional achievements on A Level and BTEC Results Day 2022. This year saw the return to the traditional examination schedule following the disruption of the pandemic, presenting a challenging time for many students who have not previously experienced a formal examination setting. ‘Bear’ hunts fresh opportunity following departure from North Yorkshire gastropub

Co-founder, entrepreneur and head chef of the popular Knaresborough restaurant and bar, ‘The Bear at Carriages’, Sam Pullan, has left the business after two years. Sam acquired the business, formerly Carriages, out of administration in 2020 with business partner John Dixon. Following £100k of investment and extensive renovations, The Bear at Carriages opened in summer 2020 against the backdrop of multiple lockdowns, breathing new life into the venue in the market town. MOJO is raising the bar with progressive staff training

 The Leeds head office of the Bar group MOJO, is now a BIIAB accredited training centre. MOJO is renowned for taking staff training to another level, with their annual Bar Olympics in May igniting creativity and solidifying comradery throughout the company. The BIIAB Level 2 Awards for Personal Licence Holders, is now an extension of the company’s extensive training programme. The company goal is to have all employees, across all six MOJO establishments, receive their personal licence. Harrogate and District Soroptomists hold their AGM

The 89th Annual General Meeting of Soroptimist International of Harrogate and District took place at the Crown Hotel in Harrogate last week. The Club was delighted to welcome SI Yorkshire President, Lindsay Green, who presented 25 year Long Service Awards to Irene Kerr and Christabel England. Christine Pyatt Anderson was elected Vice President and will also be the Club Programme Action Officer with Paula Newson Smith. Val Hills is continuing as Club President and Pat Shore is President Elect. JB Gill to take centre stage at the Great Yorkshire Show

Popstar turned farmer JB Gill from the boy band JLS has been announced to appear on the new GYS stage at the Great Yorkshire Show. JB will appear on Wednesday July 13 when he will appear twice on the stage which has been sponsored by Daniel Thwaites, as part of a chat show style section before meeting fans afterwards in a meet & greet zone.
